I am feeling like being very contrarian right now. Being January a lot of people are on a diet and here I am posting fat cooks. I have never done a new year’s diet because I feel like what’s the point if I do not intend to keep it up throughout the year. So here I am making fat cooks!
It wouldn’t be the end of the world if I never ate fat cooks again, but they are convenient for me when I have nothing else to make for breakfast. I don’t like pancakes which would probably be a better option since the batter is similar to that of fatcooks. I have this conversation with myself every time I am about to make fatcooks. For these fatcooks I used plain yogurt and folded in chocolate chips. In place of yogurt you could use sour milk(lacto) and you could fold in fruits like bananas, strawberries or blueberries.I fried in a cast iron pan but you can use whatever you have.
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- cooking oil for frying
- Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Add the yogurt tothe dry ingredients and mix until well combined. Do not over mix. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Heat oil to 350F.
- Using a tablespoon, spoon dough into oil and cook about 2 minutes on each side. Drain on a paper towel.
- Serve warm.
