Masawu Butter

Ingredients

  • 3 lb masawu
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 6 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Boil masawu in a large pot with cinnamon sticks and cloves for 30 minutes
  2. Remove the pot from heat and throw out the water. Pound in a duri or use a blender or a food processor. Pass through a sieve and put the pulp in a pot.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 1 hour. Place in a jar and store in the fridge for two weeks.
