Mother’s Day Coupons + How to celebrate mother’s day when mom is gone

One of my favourite sitcoms is “The Middle”. It makes me feel better about my house because it is cleaner than the Hecks house. Kind of how watching the hoarders show makes you want to clean. I especially like the mother’s day episodes because they never go the way Frankie wants them to. Like the episode where her family forgot to get her anything and then got her whatever they could find on mother’s day with coupons

Don’t be like the Hecks! You still have two days depending on where you are in the world to get your mom/wife a nice gift.

Don’t want to spend any money? No problem do something for money that she will appreciate or better still, download these coupons and print them for mom. She will be able to use the coupons throughout the year. You can print as many copies as you want or need. It is a great alternative if you just forgot to  get  a present.

There are 6 different coupons and the other two are blank so your mom/wife can fill in what she would like help with. The coupons are not marked for mother’s day only so you could use them for other occasions like christmas and birthdays. Here is the download:

When I was thinking about all this, I thought about my mom. She lost her mom so she can not really use these coupons. Even though I lost my grandmother too, I appreciate that it is not the same as losing your mom but I do understand that it is difficult. I like to think the pain will not go away completely. Here are things that I think you can do if your mom is gone.

  1. Share the day with someone/ people who knew your mom- Your dad, her siblings, your siblings and talk about her. Ask them to tell you a story about her that you have never heard before.
  2. Do something that your mom loved to do – Cook her favourite meal, go somewhere she liked to do, read her favourite book or watch her favourite movie.
  3. Visit her gravesite- Depending on location this maybe difficult but if you can do so. It may make you feel better.
  4. Donate some money/time to a cause or charity she was passionate about.
  5. Buy yourself something your mom may have liked, like flowers.
  6. Above all pray so that you feel better. Ask God to give you comfort that only He can give you

However you celebrate mother’s day, enjoy it! If you are mom I pray that you get pampered on the day and will not lift a finger!
