DIY Pyramid Kite

Holidays like Easter and Christmas are a different experience for me now with a child. In my family they were not a big deal, being Adventist and when I visited my mom’s family we would go to church. Of course through TV and books I knew about egg hunts, the Easter bunny and so many other things but never really experienced them. And the Cadburry Easter eggs.

Every Good Friday, it is a tradition to fly kites in Bermuda. Over the weekend I helped my friend make a pyramid kite for her daughter, so I decided to make one and show you how to make it too.

You will need so tissue paper, straws, string(twine) and tape.
First you will need to make four triangles with the straws and string.
Tie the string together. You will need to leave a long string to use later. Attach two more straws to form a diamond. Before I went on to the next stage I traced the diamond onto the tissue paper and cut out four diamonds on the tissue paper. Next you need to attach another straw to make a pyramid. Now using the diamond shaped tissue paper, cover two sided of the pyramid and secure with tape. Do all four pyramids. Tie the corners of the pyramids securely and neaten the strings. You can tape them. This is what it looks like from the other side Now tie the string on the top and middle. Your kite is ready.

It’s a good thing I enjoy doing this because it didn’t last two hours.
