What to look forward to in June

At the beginning of each month, I always feel like I have been given another chance to start new projects and finish old ones. I feel renewed and I brainstorm.

The easiest projects/posts are recipes. This is largely because most are recipes that I have prepared before and kind of know what will work or not. So I am never short of recipes to share. When I started this blog, it was never my intention to share as many recipes as I have. I certainly was not thinking of developing new recipes. It has just sort of happened and I find that I actually enjoy it. I feel like I have the best job ever when I am cooking. For June I am working on new recipes using ingredients from Zimbabwe in new and imaginative ways. Drinks, salads and cold desserts will be my main focus. Its hot here and I only ever share the food that we eat here.

All my other projects make me nervous. I will obviously create something to my liking and then when I am finished I start wondering if anyone will like it too. I usually show the people close to me first and their criticism is always the hardest to take. Criticism is good and I like for people to show me where I can do better but there is a part of me that wants to be told that I am the best blogger/writer/creator ever. Of course I would never grow if I got not no criticism!

Sometime this month I will be sharing with you a coloring book for children. It is different from what I have done in the past. I can not wait to share it with you soon. It is harder than I imagined it would be but I am confident it will work out in the end.

I am also working on a crochet backpack pattern. It is coming along and I want to try new techniques(for me) with it. It has some motifs which I hated working on.

Once I get finished with this, I might make a baby blanket with some of my yarn scraps. Its still mostly in head at this time. I am probably going to sew some shorts, a skirt and an apron, but have not decided if and when I will will do so.

Some of my projects just happen without a plan, so will see as the month goes on.

If you have any posts or projects that you would like to see here, leave a comment here or email me. As always thank you for your support and have a great June!
