We have had this coffee table for a long time and we did not like it but we just could not seem to get rid of it. It seemed like it was destined fort the dump and than I saw that some people on Pinterest were turning their coffee tables into benches so I decided to do the same as well.
Here is the coffee table before i did anything to it
To make the bench you will need the following:
- a piece of wood to fit your table
- upholstery foam
- upholstery fabric
- stapler and pins
- wood stain or paint
Place the foam on top of the wood
Cover the foam and board with the fabric
Turn it over and staple the fabric in place. You may need to stretch it out a bit to make the fabric tout
Paint or stain the table with a color of your choice and place the cushion on top of the table after the table is dry.
This is a fairly easy project to do. I only spent $10 for the wood board, for everything else I used what I already had in the house. If your coffee table is strong enough you could omit the wood board all together. let me know if you try this as well.
