Chocolate Porridge with Caramelised banana

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup maize meal
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/ teaspoon kosher salt

Topping

  • 2 Bananas
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup cranberries

Instructions

  1. Boil 2 cups water in a saucepan. Blend cornmeal, cocoa powder and 1/2 cup of water in a small bowl. Whisk into the boiling water.
  2. Reduce heat and leave to simmer for about 15 minutes.
  3. Slice bananas lengthwise and sprinkle with sugar, broil on high until browned or use a blow torch.
  4. Serve hot or cold topped with bananas, cranberries and the seeds.
