Pepper and Stew Review

A couple of months ago I learnt of Pepper and stew, a small business in the UK founded by a Zimbabwean. Pepper and Stew specialises in African food, mainly sauces and spices. Africa is a big place and the food is varied, Pepper and Stew has tried to bring all these tastes in one place. They carry spice blends used in sausages from South Africa, West African palm nut sauces and flavours from the Island countries of Africa.

I bought the Cape Malay Curry sauce and Boerewors spice from her website. I had talked to Raquel about  before about reviewing their products so she also gifted me with the Palm Nut Sauce and Ras El Halnout spice. The purchase was easily done and delivery was quick. I had my package delivered to our niece who lives in the UK. The packaging is quite sturdy and my sauces made it to Bermuda just fine. When you buy her sauces she includes a recipe card for the sauces that you buy so you have an idea of how to use them.

Pepper and Stew only uses natural ingredients, there are no ingredients with hard to pronounce names. When I open the Cape Malay Curry sauce, I liked that you could actually see the vegetables that are in the sauce, like the carrots and onions. It assured me that their sauces were made with the ingredients listed on the packaging. The Cape Malay Curry is a mild flavourful curry which worked out fine because this was the time my sister was visiting and she does not like spicy food. I also have tried the boerewors spice which I have used in meat balls and  burgers. It just made me wish I was home.

You can but their sauces on their website and stockists listed on their website. The website is easy to navigate and they have great recipes that you can try on their website.  I will have to find out from them if they do international shipping because when I bought mine, my husband had gone to the UK so I did not need that option. For the convenience you get, I think the prices are really good especially when I compare with what I have to pay here in Bermuda.

Have you tried these sauces and or spices yet? If you have please let me know what you think about them.
