DIY Cake Stand

I do not bake a lot of cakes but when I do I always wish I had nice cake stand to put it in. At the same time I do not want to spend a lot of money on something that I sometimes use. I realize now that I have one that you can use for other things as well. I can use it for fruits and other baked goods like cupcakes and tarts. Or as a decorative piece. I have seen one being used as a soap dish and it looks so good. If the top part is deep enough, then you can use it to display ornaments or anything that would otherwise roll over.

I came across DIY cake stands and made one myself. This all you will need. A parfait glass ( any glass of your choice will work here), a bowl and super glue. You can make it as big or as small as you want.You can also use different materials. I think stainless steel would work too or you could mix materials like glass and porcelain. I made mine one tier but you could also make it as many tiers as you want just remember to have a base so it does not fall over. Or even add  trim to it for some va-va-voom!

To make the cake stand, apply glue to the bottom of parfait glass and to the center of the bowl.

Attach the bowl and glass and leave to dry overnight. Do not try to move it or use it before it is dry otherwise  the stand will fall apart.

Your stand is ready to be used. You could make as many as you want and give them away to friends, just tie a ribbon to the stem and you are done.
