I have been meaning to get a laundry bag or basket but I forget each time. Then I came across an embroidery hoop laundry bag tutorial using an embroidery hoop and a pillow case but I did not have a pillowcase that I could use. I decided to make the bag myself. This was so fast, like under thirty minutes, so I managed to do it while my son took his morning nap. Here is the tutorial for making your own laundry bag.
You will need
- Embroidery hoop that is at least 18 inches in diameter.
- Main fabric
- Lining fabric
- Sewing materials
Sew the top sides of your fabrics right sides facing and iron you seam open.
Fold and pin your sewn fabrics together, right sides facing so that they form a tube.
Stitch around leaving an opening on the lining fabric.
Turn the bag inside out through the opening of the lining and tuck in the opening.
Stitch close the opening. It is neater to do it by hand but I wanted to finish before my son woke up.
Press flat the top of the bag and top stitch.
Place the bag opening over the inner ring, showing the inside.
Put the outer ring and screw it tightly to secure the bag. Hang it wherever you would like to use it.
