How to remove the sticky residue on bottles

In Zimbabwe, many families reuse glass containers all the time. I still do it, I hang on to the glass containers until I am certain I will not need to use it at which point I recycle. I always try to remove the sticky residue that is left when you remove the labels. That residue is hard to remove. In the US you can buy a product to remove that residue but I have not come across it here in Bermuda or in Zimbabwe.

You will need:

  • 1 tablespoon corn oil
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda

Mix the oil and baking soda two together to make a paste.
