How to water colour a mug with nail polish

My favourite DIYs are the ones that I do not have to go to the shop for and are easy to do.

I saw a video showing a nail painting technique where you drop a few drops of nail polish in water and you dip your finger. I decided to try the same technique with my coffee mugs and it worked.

You will need:

  • A bowl filled with water.
  • Coffee mug
  • Nail polish
  • ToothpickIMG_3328 Drop some nail polish into the water and it will spread or you can use a toothpick .IMG_3330 Dip your mug into the centre of the nail polish film and the nail polish will cling onto the mug.IMG_3331 Leave to dry for at least two hours.IMG_3333

Hi, I tried doing this on the weekend; but it seemed my dollar store nail polish more or less dissolved into the water. Is there a special brand to use.
Thanks Connie

I used essie and OPI and it worked. Makesure not use a dish washer otherwise it will wash off.
